December '25 Updates
This Changelog post outlines the updates made to the Newline Platform in December 2025.
What We Improved
Newline API
- We’ve updated the API to allow hashtags (#) in the name field of the instant payment transmitter object when initiating transfers via POST /transfers. This enhancement ensures compatibility with downstream RTP applications that already support hashtags.
What We Fixed
Newline API
- Validation logic has been updated to successfully process instant payment transfers when a hashtag (#) is included in the transmitter name field. This fix ensures that transfers containing special characters no longer fail unexpectedly.
SRE & Analytics
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) Guide- We’ve published a comprehensive guide for MCP—a new framework designed to enhance contextual awareness in embedded financial applications. MCP enables dynamic model switching based on user context, transaction type, and platform capabilities.
Why It Matters
These updates improve flexibility and compatibility across the Newline Platform. By supporting hashtags in transmitter names, we align the API with downstream RTP systems and industry standards—reducing integration friction and improving developer experience.
In addition, the newly published MCP Guide equips developers with the architectural context, integration pathways, error‑handling strategies, and setup instructions needed to adopt Model Context Protocol with confidence. Together, these enhancements strengthen platform reliability and streamline onboarding for real‑time, context‑aware financial applications.
