Jan '26 Updates

This Changelog post outlines the updates made to the Newline Platform in January 2026.
What We Improved
Newline API
- We expanded support for special‑character handling in the instant payment transmitter object to ensure consistent processing across transfer workflows. Building on the December update that introduced hashtag (#) support, January’s enhancements focused on strengthening validation logic and ensuring seamless acceptance of transmitter names containing special characters across all environments.
What We Fixed
Newline API
- Addressed an issue where certain sandbox environments were not consistently accepting hashtags in the transmitter name field during POST /transfers requests. This fix ensures full alignment between Sandbox and Production behavior and supports successful initiation of instant payment transfers using # anywhere in the transmitter name.
Why It Matters
These January updates reinforce the December release by ensuring that the newly supported hashtag character performs reliably across all deployment environments. Together, these improvements reduce friction for developers integrating with the Newline transfers API and ensure compatibility with downstream RTP systems that already support these characters.
