January '24 updates: Sandbox, MQ, and API References

This Changelog post details the updates made to the Newline Platform in January, 2024.

What we launched

• Deployed a new API for ACH origination and reporting capabilities and a sandbox testing experience.
• Updated our sandbox testing experience, with new payment failure capabilities for Instant Payments. See the Errors guide in our Sandbox walkthrough for more details.

What we improved

• Updated our MQ experience, specifically the Transactions topic's events' payload. Payload now includes transfer_uid, which can be used to categorize transactions as Newline originated or externally originated (also referred to as incoming payments).
• Updated our Transfers and Transactions APIs to return ACH Return and Notification of Change (NOC) information only as part of the Transactions object.

Why it matters

• One payment API for ACH, Wires, and Instant Payments (RTP Send)!
• Clients will be able create counterparties, initiate ACH payments, and track the status of their payments on-demand.
• sameday and standard ACH entries supported on Day 1.
• Key ACH SEC codes supported on Day 1: CCD, PPD, WEB, TEL, CIE.
