What We Improved

Newline API

• Transaction Reconciliation

Introduced new API endpoints to support statement posting dates and account closing balances. These enhancements lay the foundation for future reconciliation capabilities and are currently gated behind a feature flag.

• Real-Time Payments to Virtual Reference Numbers (RTPs to VRNs)

Enabled support for routing Real-Time Payments to Virtual Reference Numbers. Code is deployed behind a feature flag pending full release approval.

• Webhooks for API Event Notifications

Added webhook support as an alternative to Message Queue for API event delivery. This feature is gated behind a feature flag.

• SAS-AML VRN Transaction Monitoring

Expanded transaction monitoring for Virtual Reference Numbers by generating new data reports for SAS-AML. This feature went live in production on September 9, 2025.

What We Fixed

Newline API

• ACH Return MQ Events

  Fixed issue where transfer_uid was showing as null on ACH return Transaction Created Message Queue events (D-43410).

• Returns Endpoint in Sandbox

  Resolved error for POST /returns where company_id was not automatically populated from the original ACH transaction (D-44289).

• Synthetic Account Validation

  Improved error messaging for invalid account_number input on POST /synthetic_accounts (D-43580).

These enhancements improve transparency, monitoring, and reconciliation capabilities across the Newline Experience API.

Fixes to sandbox and validation workflows reduce manual intervention and improve developer experience.

Feature flag gating ensures safe deployment and controlled rollout across teams and environments.
