April '24 updates: Virtual Reference Numbers, CSV Reporting, and Transfer Blocks
7 months ago by Marcus,Charles
This Changelog post details the updates made to the Newline Platform in April, 2024.
What we launched
- Deployed a new API to support Virtual Reference Numbers (VRNs) in
beta
- Deployed new Reporting features, namely to provide file-based options. Check out our Reporting guide for more details.
- Launched Recipes for our three payment rails.
What we improved
- Added new context to duplicate Synthetic Account error response (see larger guide) to allow for quick creation of new external Synthetic Accounts for payment origination without needing to store and reference
uids
. - Added new capabilities to support transaction blocking. Check out our ACH guide for more details.
Why it matters
- VRNs are a key part of the Newline modular platform. By creating network addressable, virtual account numbers, Clients can leverage their own ledger. BYOL, if you will!
- Reporting is best when it expands across a number of channels, providing Clients flexibility where they need it. Newline now supports a file-based channel to provide up-to-date Transaction, Balance, and Account information.
- ACH Transaction blocking can offer Clients and Customers peace of mind by only allowing certain transaction types, dollar thresholds, or counterparties from making payments to or from their accounts.
- Recipes are quick-start, technical guides that assist in speed-to-market and identifying key process flows to test.
